Ipheion uniflorum Alberto Castillo

Still rather unknown by a lot of gardeners and that is a pity; she truly deserves to be planted. She is such a grateful plant for the garden. Comes back for many years, even spreads through seed, and is very affordable. On the picture you can see how the seeds germinate under a three year old clump to develop new bulbs. A magnificent little plant to as ground cover on a larger scale. On the other picture you see Alberto Castillo combined with Muscari Baby’s Breath, another recommendation.

This little gem fits well in the small front yard, especially if you're looking for a good groundcover, a recommendation by Jacqueline van der Kloet in her book.
