Jan Hein’s favourite Tulip. Who is Jan Hein? You might wonder. Well, Jan Hein is the young man who has passionately taken care of our Daffodils for years and who is building himself a beautiful Tulip nursery. Jan Hein really has beautiful tulips, among others the varieties Blue Diamond, Rosy Diamond and Novi Sun, which you can find in our web shop, come from Jan Hein’s Nursery. The answer he gave me when I asked him what he liked so much about Alison Bradley, made it clear for me that he knows his Tulips well. He told me that Alison Bradley’s parents are Monte Carlo and Negrita, both these varieties have been planted by hundreds of hectares in the past, so she must be a strong growing Tulip. Furthermore, Alison Bradley is an all-round Tulip, she grows fantastically in the garden, but she can very well be used as cutting flower in winter. Her flowers are also very durable, in the garden she can bloom for weeks and as cutting flower she has an extraordinary vase life. And if you plant big bulb of Alison Bradley in your garden, she grows multiple flowers, each Tulip in size 12/+ gives at least three flowers. Lastly Jan Hein said, with a big smile on his face, ‘and of course I just think she is stunningly beautiful’.
